We're about to launch our first product and need to get a phone system in place beyond our personal cell phones. At the moment, it's just the two of us (co-owners). As we grow, we'll need to expand. We don't need or want hard lines, so a cloud based system like or looks like the way to go.

Both seem easy enough to use and do everything I can think of off the top of my head. What have your experiences (good and bad) been with various phone systems, particularly those two? Any major advantages for one or the other? Edit: typo Edit 2: We ended up trying Switch.co.

Seems to do everything we need so far. What are the advantages of Vonage over the others? Heck, give me your sales pitch. To give you a better idea of what to tell me about, I'll go into a bit more detail about us. We're selling physical products, not services or web based products.

Our first product is relatively low volume (we're estimating 20 units per month). Our sales will be largely web based, although we will take orders over the phone as needed. We work out of a co-working space, so while we could use dedicated handsets, we'd prefer to use our cell phones. Our second product is where we are planning on really expanding. That will sell 5000+ units per year and we'll bring on additional employees to help with the volume. Try switch.co (disclosure: I work for Switch).

We have a free trial. Unlike most of the competition you can get setup on your own pretty quickly.

Pricing is $15 per user per month + taxes and fees (e911, etc). This will vary by state and by # of lines. We have Mac, Windows and Chrome apps for calling from your computer, and iOS and android apps to use Switch from your mobile. We integrate with Google Apps and Office 365 and we were founded by the team behind Google Voice. Happy to answer any questions you have. Edit: added + taxes/fees. Re: Linux, we have a Chrome browser app, so you should be able to run Switch through Chrome on a Linux machine.

I haven't tested myself but you can test it out yourself with our free trial. Notable advantages over Grasshopper:. Price: You get unlimited domestic calls with Switch, plus our plans are cheaper. Grasshopper has caps and/or charges per minute.

Business features: We have more powerful business call controls and business management features. We are used by SMBs to enterprises (eg, Motorola, Warby Parker, Uber) so have enterprise-grade features. Integrations: We integrate with Google Apps, O365, LinkedIn (social profiles). Apps: We have Windows, Mac, Chrome, iPhone and Android.

Google Recommended: We're recommend by Google and have tight integration with Google Apps. Edit: Formatting. This looks pretty good. I'm using sendhub.com presently. It started as $15/mo, but now they are changing it to $25. Was planning to survey the market again to see if there was anything new on the market since I chose them. All I really needed was a place to park my number and get voicemails, but then I learned that people really like SMS, which I think Sendhub does well.

They have an API too, that I expected is want to use, but I never did. I'm excited to see that you may have a native Windows app. Sendhub only has the web interface, and choosing audio devices in the browser is not possible. My present compromise when I want to make a call is to, set the mic to my headset, and turn up my speakers. I have to turn it up because when Windows detects that I'm using the communications device, it attenuates the system audio (audio ducking).

There is no reliable way to choose my headset for output in the browser, yet.
