This slightly defeats the wonder of having such a slim package as the wonderful MacBook. Hopefully they will get around to doing a USB 3 stick to USB C sometime soon.

DO NOT BUY this I'm using this to connect a monitor, power and a Mac USB keyboard to my MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2016).

The adapter worked for almost a day, but then the I'm using this to connect a monitor, power and a Mac USB keyboard to my MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2016). The adapter worked for almost a day, but then the keyboard stopped responding. Checking the adapter I found it was so hot I could not hold it. I unplugged it and found that the ports on the back are smelling of burnt plastic. Clearly there is something fishy with this product - judging from all the other negative reviews too.

A very bad situation. This is the only way I can connect a monitor to my MacBook - it's the only port.

If Apple cannot provide me with a working adapter then my MacBook becomes severely limited! More (Read full review). Written by Pascal D from Woking. 10-Jan-2017 150 of 158 people found this useful. Expected better of Apple I have a brand-new Apple MacBook Pro 15' and its fast, seemingly a nice machine (which it should be for the money). Apple forced me to buy this Multiport adapte I have a brand-new Apple MacBook Pro 15' and its fast, seemingly a nice machine (which it should be for the money).

Apple forced me to buy this Multiport adapter to use my external monitor, keyboard and mouse. Problem is it just doesn't work properly; I can't use the USB-C power pass-through as the adaptor doesn't pass enough power through to power the laptop/screen.and.

charge the laptop. I also have to plug things in in a certain order, otherwise the screen doesn't pick up (what?!). So I'm already using 3 of my 4 available ports, and every morning have to faff about unplugging and re-plugging in everything to get everything to pick-up & ensure its charging. I barely ever write reviews but this experience has pushed me to. What has happened to Apple Mac hardware!? I wished I could have upgraded the spec of my old 2013 MBP at this rate.

That machine just worked. More (Read full review).

Useless expensive junk Recently bought a new MacBook Pro, which I use at the side of my desk plugged in to three external monitors. At least I used to on my old MacBook. With this new Recently bought a new MacBook Pro, which I use at the side of my desk plugged in to three external monitors. At least I used to on my old MacBook.

With this new one, suddenly I need MORE adapters, and this is the only option for plugging it in to my displays. Works less than half the time, usually just gives me a black screen and flashes on and off. Restarting the laptop occasionally works but usually not. Surprisingly low quality for something from Apple. Look in to third party alternatives that don't cost $80. This is just another white paperweight now.
