As far as the other issues, thanks for bringing them to our attention. We will investigate and post any updates here. FIY, Administrator privileges are required to register because registration is done via the Local Machine Hive Key (HKLM). This will only need to be done once (usually during installation) and then users can enable/disable debug engines at the user privilege level (as this setting is written to Visual Studio's private registry hive). Ok, I got working with the following sequence 1) make sure there is only one instance of VS2017 (Professional in my case) on the machine (I had both pro and enterprise initially) 2) Run repair, this got me the JIT menu in options (it reported registration errors) 3) turn off all the JIT options 4) run repair again 5) turn on all the JIT options Now seems to work correctly, I get both New instance of 2017 and Existing Instance on the selection dialog. Not sure if all the steps are necessary, but at the end of this sequence it was working for me.
